Itay Talgam, the Conductor of Business
|
When I first met Itay Talgam at the Organization Development Word Summit in August 2010, I immediately felt that he was an extraordinary character. After our conversation, I was able to answer the question: why I always feel the art related characters so close to me? I think I was enjoying the company of Itay Talgam so much because of his special connection with the details of life. When you talk to him, you can conclude different understandings about the connected details of meanings hidden beyond the cupboard.
I am glad to share a couple of minutes of my conversation with Itay through the video recording below.
After watching this conversation, it is understandable why so many people are enthusiastic and why they look forward to my next blog next week where I show you his tiny workshop he held at the Organization Development Word Summit 2010.
Update: The conductors terrific presentation is available at the hot chair section.

Without a Boss - self-forming organizations - ODWS Tuesday + Wednesday
Imagine that you don’t have a boss, or on the contrary, you don’t have subordinates. Everyone is equal at work. Got it? Then imagine there are no departments. No HR, no sales, no marketing. Got it? Then imagine that the organization takes a new shape at every project kickoff. Got it? Then imagine there are 180 people in this organization. Do you think such an organization could operate successfully? The answer is: YES! How? Well, this is not easy to visualize...

ODWS from my point of view
About a year ago I was invited to participate in the ODWS conference. A lot of my Hungarian students were involved in the organization and I was really excited to be a part of their vision. On Monday arrived to speak in the panel discussion with inspirational leaders. What a line up of Gestalt, Open Space, Appreciative Inquiry and World Cafe leaders. I was honored to be among my worldwide colleagues in the discussion of the questions we thought relevant for the world today and what our methods could contribute. What struck me most in the opening panel is the similarity of our views. I guess the more experience you have in transformational learning the less important it is what method you use. What I was also pleasantly surprised about is

ODWS 2010 – Organization Development World Summit, versus CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility)
When I first read about the ODWS 2010 conference, I didn’t really understand why, when, when it is organized by who and who would be the target audience. Thus I checked into it and behind the screens I found great people working on a great initiative. This is not an organization that organizes conferences every now and then, but a sixty member nonprofit team who worked diligently for months to make a quality professional event happen. What makes them look even more benevolent is the fact that they set a CSR example by arranging an August 20 party the profit of which have been offered to those who have been suffering because of the recent floods.
Because of all this we have decided to support this cause in every way we can. In the next 12 days, ie until the official opening ceremony, we will inform you of the preparations, the topics, the speakers and we will even ask questions from these lecturers. Of course, we will be present at the event and some roundtable discussions will be broadcast live, will be interactive and will be recorded. To sum it up: we will work to show you as much as possible of the event.
What we will not be able to show you is the master classes and the opening ceremony. Have you registered?
