Elizabethan sonnets and Shakespearean sonnets are both types of sonnets, but there are some differences between the two. Elizabethan sonnets, also known as Petrarchan sonnets, have a specific rhyme scheme of ABBA ABBA CDC DCD, with the first eight lines presenting a problem or situation and the final six lines providing a resolution or conclusion. On the other hand, Shakespearean sonnets have a rhyme scheme of ABABCDCDEFEFGG, with three quatrains and a final couplet. Additionally, Shakespearean sonnets often explore themes of love, time, and beauty in a more complex and nuanced way than Elizabethan sonnets. **
